HDR with ridiculous small exposure differences was not used for dynamic range, but to enhance the "light beams" in the sky - fog changes all the time but "beams" remain in constant position => multiple exposures make the beams more visible.

Did you use a flash......?
Im guessing this was a long exposure shot.....100s...? Not 1/100....? Sorry..Im new to photography and learning.
I've been trying to get good handheld shots at night but have been unsuccesfull...When I do long exposure it lets in a ton of light and looks great but i definetely have to be on a tripod

No, it was not needed as the bridge had lots of lights, including those lights which form lightbeam to sky. I don't know why they have such lights as they don't provide any light to road and won't be much visible unless there is fog.
That's a beauty Samuli, both the photo itself and your post processing.
I'm doing a bit of spring cleaning in my folders. Here are some shots from Poland (mostly Kraków and Tarnów) last year with A7II and CV Ultron 35/1.7.
I must say that I much preferred the rain and overcast sky we had the first days than the super hot and sunny weather the other half of the week...

Jack...wow! Really dig those. The last is incredible!
Butch...really nice. Need a vacation from the "vacation"?
Peire...loving the Pentax grabs. Especially M 50 1.4. I'm really curious about the A 50 1.2, as well. Ive heard great things about the 1.2?
Cgrille...super separation with the 200. Very nice.

Gregg, nice to see your super funny Gio here again
Wow lovely Fred. Makes me want to be back to the Sierras. Walked there for a week from Bear Claw back in 2010 which was the last time I spent any serious time in the States. Got some nice images but not great ones because of the constraints of hiking with a group of friends and having camp set up and take down duties in the golden hours...
