Congrats to Helena, Blackbird, Bob, Werner, Douglas!!! Splendid. Congrats and commiserations to John. I know and share your pain. My new nickname is Tod. It stands for "The Otus Dropper". Except that all wasn't fine...
A couple of grabs from Paris at night with 85 GM.
Thank you John! Not the best shot but different that what we usually see from this waterfall. I'd like to be a bit higher and further back to use a longer lens and get some compression going on. Next time...
One from the plain wreck, not so far away from the waterfall.
Excellent grabs from all....love this thread!
Philippe...please say you're joking that you dropped the Otus??
John...your lens is ok, right?
I picked up a Batis 25 awhile back...this lens holds SO much detail it's amazing!

A few bokeh/portraits shots taken with C Sonnar 50. Hope you dont get tired of seeing my wife but she is my closest test subject when trying out my lenses Both are handheld, first one at 1/60th of a second, while the second is at 1/20th of a second.

Nice images, great to see the backdrop of mountains.
Never got round to seeing this during my trip last year.
Btw if you're interested in the history of those planes and the artic conditions they were sometimes ditched in I highly recommend reading "Frozen in Time" by Mitchell Zuckoff
