Am at Yosemite. It is raining and I am inquiring about local Ark builders as it does not look to stop for some days. Sigh..... Last year there was not a cloud in the sky all week and I kept hoping for some clouds to make the sky interesting. Be careful what you wish for...... Anyway, here were a few grabs from this morning before the heavens opened.
I had a couple of days in the Brecon area last week primarily for the hills and modest Cathedral - then on a little drive out I came across a Photo Shoot being carried out by 'Classic Car' magazine for an issue later this year. They clearly saw me drooling and very kindly agreed to me taking a few shots - not really in my comfort zone and not in Lucinda or Wilhelm category by any stretch - but great fun. My thanks to Classic Car and the owner.

First one is really impressive... wonderful light and contrast. You reminded me I should use more this lens

Awesome work Stephen!! It looks like you are having a great time in Yosemite. Carry a camera/lens plastic bag protection with you so you can shoot in the rain. Sometimes it makes great B&W images.
I carry almost the same lenses as you. The only difference is the ZM 85/4 instead of the Loxia and I usually have the CV 12/5.6 in my pocket.

Hi Fred,
First, thank you for your kind words! I did buy some plastic lens hoods/protectors for shooting in the rain and then left them home, darnit! Fortunately, the forecast is easing a bit and now it looks like only two days of rain then mostly sunny with chance of snow next couple. Should be a clearing storm opportunity or two then perhaps I will brave the crowds and try for a horsetail pic.
As for lenses, I carry a fair arsenal. I too have the 12mm/5.6. My lenses are 12/5.6, 21/2.8, 28/1.4, 35/1.4, 50/2, 75/2, 85/2.4, 135/3.4, 180/2.8, and 280/4 (with a 1.4x and 2x extenders). I have two bodies and two tripods. Maybe overkill, but I don't get to a location like Yosemite often so I figure why not bring the kitchen sink!
Not completely happy with this one, but just to prove I have the 12mm (slightly cropped):

Both Frank and Ronny are starting to give me some GAS with all the nice photos with the 100-300.
I might just need to hold one to have all that GAS disappear though. That thing looks massive!
I found it smaller than expected out of the box. It has same diameter as other normal contax lenses (the 35-70, 35/1.4, 85/1.4 etc) it's just longer.. and the pull zoom makes it yes... longer still :-)
