One thing nags at me: how do these fishermen know when to move their shacks so they don't sink? Do they ever sink? No hot spells, I'm guessing!
Worries me too, especially with some cracks appearing at the edges in that last set. You wouldn't want to be last in the queue at the slipway on the first warmer day! It would make an interesting photo though!

All shacks have to be off the lake by the end of February, even if the ice is still quite thick. Ice thickness is monitored quite often. Currently, the ice is around 15+ inches thick so the shacks won't sink. Nor will cars and pickup trucks sink at that thickness. Me? I only walk on the lake . . .
