Love the snow set Derek! I heard you guys got a pile of snow in the last few days. Enjoy!
thanks! it's more than i can ever remember getting here, but not that much compared to what i got regularly in chicago. the city is completely shut down by it though. snow days for nearly everybody...
The La Florida, a favorite location of Hemmingway, in Havana Cuba to get a daiquiri. A statue of him is at one end of the Bar. Both taken with the A7RII and Batis 25.

Ronny, when I was in US using freehand this lens, I thought to sell it because it is really difficult to use, and I thought of you... then when I saw the results, I changed my mind and decided to keep it
Having said that, what I don't like of this lens is that the front lens is connected to the focusing system and, in particular at 300mm, it is very difficult to hold the focal point trying to hold at the same time camera and lens to avoid shaking.
Impressive images from everyone in the last pages... amazing!!!

Maybe I am done with Contax
Will get a tele lens for my Iceland trip in Sep
The only question is which one to have ... Hmmmmmm
Often I think Sony FE 70-200mm F4 G OSS
What do you say .. Contax 100-300 or Sony FE 70-200 f4 G?
My Novoflex adapter is sold so it must also be purchased
and it seems that in that case I have to buy from Japan and then have to pay duty and VAT .. the adapter and Contax in good condition probably cost around 1100-1200 dollars with duty and VAT and a used Sony is about 800-900 dollars
The images on this thread are truly amazing! It is so hard to keep up. Here are a few images of rock textures on the desert near Black Canyon, AZ. At first I thought I was looking at a tree stump but then realized it was layered rock. A7RII with FE 24-70 GM
Hi Ronny my friend:
If you can find a good one (price wise) take the 70-400 II a-mont.
It will serve you excellent in Iceland.
Optically excellent(as good as the Contax) it is much more versatile than any 70-200... and with the LA EA 3 AF works great with the A7RII (but for landscapes you don't need AF anyhow..)
Posting these shots from the SY135 lead me to repurchase a new copy of the lens.
I couldn't justify the cost of a Zeiss APO 135 at this time, for my use, and given the generally excellent IQ produced by (good copies of) the Samyang.
Hope the new one has longer legs than the previous copy.

Ronny, I would not suggest Contax 100-300... it is a great lens but belongs to another era and although it is very sharp, colors and contrast are not comparable to the current lenses... you have to work more in PP to reach a good result. The 70-200 f / 4 it seems to me a very good and versatile lens with autofocus and stabilizer and in my opinion has better bokeh than the FE 70-300 which among other is very expensive. Probably suggestion provided by Werner is the right solution even though adapter+lens (large lens) seems rather bulky and heavy.
