Both are great, but I also slightly prefer the first one as well since the star at the top right and the car light stars at the left hand side slightly distract from the overall composition / balance.

How do you find your Distagon 18/4 C/Y on the A72 Wilhelm?
Hey Peire
Edges are not up to CY standard. It is acceptable if you shoot with something close by surrounding the center. The rest is fine Contax standard, center/colors/build etc. Condition on my sample is excellent, and I've seen similar edges when searching Flickr etc.
I dont think the drawbacks has to do with the A7 sensor, my assumption is that the adapter makes ray angles irrelevant. If correct, Zeiss compromised edge performance to be able to make a small ultra wide lens.
Makes me wonder about the edges of the 25/2.8, I assume they are better in particular stopped down. Would be great if you had something full size to share.
Extreme corners are always softish with 25/2.8C/Y+A7/R/2.They look best at around infinity and f11.I haven't yet tried to focus off center in order to compensate for field field curvature, which may improve corner performance.Unfortunately I also don't have any full size samples at hand.

Thank you Ronny! I was thinking to propose you an exchange: my Zeiss 100-300 with your Makro Planar

Wow, I really like these. Both are very nice! And if i had to pick one it would be the first one due to the very gentle clouds behind the curve to the left in the image.
Thanks Ole... I'm agree, probably first one is more balanced and clouds make the difference.

Found a great copy of the Rokkor 58mm f/1.2 at my local store this morning...only $215 in excellent condition. This is the third time I've owned this lens over the past 10 years, but I'm probably going to keep this one.
This is an image from a trip to Costa Rica a few months back that hasn't been posted. This hummingbird still didn't get enough or there was no nectar in the heliconia flower and it started licking the outside of the flower to satisfy its hunger. I thought liking plates among humans was limited to humans. Well, apparently, hummingbirds behave similarly .
For this image, I used the lens profile in LR to avoid worst of barrel distortion (the store facade is not totally straight) and light falloff. The full range of perspective correction as well as exposure, color, and contrast were also used.
