Nice photographs everyone. Love Joshuas glass frog and Werners "San Salvatore". Beautiful shots!

Here´s one from my Christmas holiday to Bulgaria.

Photo taken at 9:49 AM

Looking at Dark Hollow Falls. A storm had dumped 16 inches of rain on the Park weeks before and the water was abnormally high. But, without the leaves of spring the image did not have the softer and more diffuse light.
Cropped tripod mounted A7r and Leica M WATE set to 21mm

Thank you very much, Johannes! It looks like Bulgaria is a great spot for photography - excellent image!

Here is the flip side of the same glass frog on glass as in the previous page. I got a stiff neck afterwards but what don't we do for the sake of photographic art.... and a little bit of frog anatomy lesson ?

An exciting day for me but boring pictures. My Sony 24-70/2.8 GM arrived today but I got home light was fading and the temperature dropping to zero F. Nonetheless, here's a few snaps just to make sure it produces images!

I swore I wouldn't buy this lens because of it's size (having bought and sold the FE35/1.4) but I decided to give it a try thanks in part to the images posted here. Now to test the lens and it's weight/size to see if it stays . . .

Congrats, Bob. Let us know how you feel about your newest acquisition after having given it a work out.

I can't give you advice on whether that is an appropriate image or not. That's a personal and artistic choice of what you want staring you in the face day after day.

Personally, I've taken down all my photo murals, all from my 4x5 film era, and replaced with self-mocking abstract oil paintings. And few of those, since refinishing and painting the walls.

I never print and no longer go to photo labs that used to print my work and feature in their lobbies.

I wouldn't know how to pick a photo(s) that I want to look at all the time, or pay for it instead of a nice lens.

I continue to be an outlier, so not much help! I'm sure you'll get better advice. Good luck deciding!

Good opportunity to try my new toy: Pentax SMC-M 28/3.5 @ f/8! 2-shot landscape stacked pano, LRCC.

Ronny, I don't print, but that shot would be gorgeous in B&W, on a simple matte frame.

I print some but not much. It has to be a wall worthy image . . . Such as this one! Consider a metal print! I've done metal glossy prints with black and whites and they simply pop!

This post represents an interesting experiment. I like Lightroom CC quite a lot but I have automated droplets for resizing and use LR mogrify for framing. So while I can do a lot of editing with Lightroom Mobile, it's difficult to post here from LR mobile. However, my edits on LR mobile sync back to my desktop. So this post is being done remotely using Team Viewer. This software allows me remote access to my desktop from my ipad. So, I can run my resizing and export with framing remotely. It's a little cluncky but it works!

I rather like the first one of these four. It's quite abstract, but anchored in reality by the rocks and pebbles.

If it were me, I'd very slightly exaggerate the dynamic "push/pull" of (very) slightly more saturated cool blue color on the top, and make the bottom section slightly warmer tint -- like the color of Raw Umber (almost a true cast bronze color -- deep, deep, dark yellow-brown -- almost with a hint of yellow-green; almost a sepia, but not so far as orange-based). Basically just what you have here but a very equalized cool/warm balance (unless your house works better with a blue/grey balance).

You asked!

Chris, thank you very much!

This should be the last image from the Keyhole rock at Pfeiffer Beach - with the starburst, at least. The size of the starburst is definitely smaller as the sun was about to disappear. Actually, for all I know, it disappeared in the last few exposures of this image taken with the SRA. My better half preferred the image without the SRA where the splashing waves were visible. It looks more realistic according to her. Oh, well .

Beautiful Joshua. Love the sunburst. Looks like the 24-70mm GM makes a superb all-around landscape lens.

David, I appreciate your kind words! Yes, like here, the zoom lens made it possible to change the coverage at ease. In this case, it was the 3 layers of folks behind me that would prevent using the foot zoom . IMHO, it is one of the best zoom lenses out there for the Sony E-mount and the other one was used for the image below.

I anticipated the wave to crash on some boulders between the keyhole and my position alright but I got lucky as when it did, the very low sun casted such a warm glow on the splash. The waves varied in intensity and that sizable splash happened just that one time during that fairly brief period. Well, it splashed a few more times after that one time but without the sun glow, which lasted maybe for about a minute or so. Better be lucky than good, I always say, in golf but apparently also in photography and for sure, in life .
