Bob, are these called the "Leica colors"?. I just bought a Leica Tele Elmar 135/4 off eBay and ordered the Techart from Adorama. This will be my first Leica lens.

Well, this is my first Leica lens as well but I think these are the "Leica Colors" we always here about.
Was in Manhattan for an overnight business trip and found some time for some photography. This is a shot of the Financial District and the Freedom Tower from the Brooklyn Bridge Promenade in Brooklyn Heights. I headed over there with some friends for dinner and stopped by the Promenade for a quick couple of shots just after sunset. I didn't have too much time and no tripod with me so I took this with my new Batis 18mm and cropped the bottom 1/4 of the shot or so to a panorama. I rested the A7r2 on the top of the wrought iron fence for some stability but attempting a multiple shot pano was out of the question. Maybe another time. There is a lot of distracting foreground from this shooting spot so a tighter shot is better or a panorama. I'll post a few more as I get a chance to process them.

Experimented with intentional camera movement in the kitchen yesterday. I like the effect and think I'll try it on other subjects later.

Thanks Rich. A terrific image.
Do you ever use the APO-Extender-R 2x with the 280/4?
K-H.
Hi K-H,
Thank you. I am not sure when I last used the 2X Apo Extender with my Leica R 280 f4 Apo Telyt lens. I normally have my Canon new FD 500mm f4.5L lens when I am out to take wildlife images . I know that the 2X Apo does not perform as well as the !.4X Apo Extender. If I were pressed and only had the 2X Apo Extender with my 280mm f4 Apo Telyt I would use it. Doug Herr (telyt) has made comments in the past regarding the 2X Apo Extender with the 280mm f4 Apo Telyt and as I recall he has noted a loss of some contrast as well as a bit loss in sharpness. Doug also normally uses his Canon new FD 500mm f4.5L lens in the 500mm focal length range when he has it with him.

Thanks Rich. Yup, that's Doug. I agree, there is some performance loss when adding the 2X to the 280/4.
Nevertheless, here is an image taken with that combination on A7r.2.
I also like how the fence in this image demonstrates the thin DOF and the bokeh.
