Looks like you may have focused on the cactus in the first photo as the background Mission church appears less in focus. The B&W pics are quite sharp though. The one of the cattle skulls are impressive in B&W.

Decided to try out the ZM35/1.4 with a Zeiss T* Circular Polarizer that bought some time ago and hardly used. All shot at f/8 in early afternoon sun.
