For me the most frustrating part of shooting landscapes is that you can't control the weather conditions. You might visit a place only once in your life, but the photos can still turn out boring because of the conditions.
When I visited Horseshoe Bend I got lucky because I got my favorite conditions: stormy weather.
Everyone was quickly leaving this usually very crowded location. Because of this I was one of the only people there. A nice experience.
You see the last rays of sunshine, right before the bad weather reached me. The haze in the background is the approaching rain.

I quote myself to say thanks also to Bobby and Charles, that I forgot this morning in my quick answer, and all others for the Likes on my last post.

3 different shots of lower Yosemite Falls.
Slightly different LFs and compositions.
All with the A7Rii and EF 16-35/4.
I had to perfect the art of wiping the lens and covering it between each shot, then removing the lens cap at the last second before the shot fired.
Needless to say I was drenched by the end of this exercise.
And I have about 25 shots of this same scene with water droplets all over the lens.
