Last Saturday at Mesa Arch, which apparently every photographer has heard of except me. I dutifully stumbled out to it right as dawn approached, but not only did clouds in the La Sals block the first sun, 40mph gusts filled the air with swirling sand...totally brutal on eyes and cameras. But it made for an interesting scene.
Later I headed down this way: White Rim by unoh7, on Flickr
When darkness fell I was still bouncing along that little road you see, enroute to the one place I was allowed to sleep. I rolled in at 10 pm Sat nite
Photo taken October 4, 2015 at 3:14 PM looking across the remnants of Marcy Dam Pond in the High Peaks Wilderness Area in in the Adirondack Mountains near Lake Placid, NY. The pond emptied after Hurricane Irene blew a hole in Marcy Dam in 2011. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens. ISO 100, lens set to probably f8 for 1/60 second. Exposure corrected by +0.12 Stops and processed in LR6.
Joshua, stunning captures !!!
Werner, absolutely magic shot with the Batis 85
Rene, wonderful series.
Great shots everyone !
As a follow to the previous evening a shot at home in the evening with A7rII and Loxia 21
This evening it is the A7rII and Batis 25 for comparison. Again hand held shot at 1/6 sec. I used Batis 25 in MF mode and at night time having the lit hyperfocal scale was great. At f/4 the focus range was 7m - infinity clearly shown.

Thank you, Charles!
I didn't have to go back to the similar image you took with the Loxia 21mm to tell you that I absolutely love the starburst of the other shot. That of the Batis here is fine but that of the Loxia is clearly more defined and I simply love it!
Thank you Charles! Really liking what you are doing with your new Loxia 21 too, especially the ones from the beach. Must resist that lens...
Joshua, beautiful photos from Antelope Canyons.
Ronny, your close-ups are always top notch.
Werner, very nice dreamy look in many of your recent photos.
MJKoski, enjoying your skeleton series.
