A new toy arrived in the mail yesterday but I didn't get to play until this morning. Here's the first few shots with the Zeiss Vario-Sonnar 35-70/3.4. Straight away, I like the colors. More testing to come.

Bob,
If all of your new images were taken in 2016, you may wish to change the copyright year of your images to 2016. I personally just use the copyright symbol to avoid this.

It's an adorable lens, good choice! It has got some handling querks but stopped down from 45mm to 70mm it performs like a top class prime lens.

And it's quite a bit less than the 24-70GM!
Yes, that's true although Fred and Guy really make me want to try it out I can imagine that It's pretty useful with a newborn.
Fred is going to compare the GM with the Contax, I can imagine that the GM is better at 35mm but the Contax wins at 50mm. I'm not sure about the 70mm setting.
Agreed. Such talent here on FM and such an amazing camera we all have.
We spent the early morning hours studying Milky Way and timelapse...failure on both accounts, but we did witness a beautiful Sunrise after freezing for 3 hours-
@ Charles
thank you for your kind comment
Great pictures with the 85 GM! Thank you for that. the lens exreme looks good. But Sony makes me mad with the GM line! Will be back. at the moment.
@ Did you hear Ronny
by the way. excellent images here! my compliments to all!
What aperture did you use for that image, please? Did you focus strictly on the star or did you back out the focus a tiny bit to include the foreground?
