My first attempt at star trails. Lot's to learn but I needed to start somewhere. A7r2 + Rokinon 14/2.8. Exposure is about 15 seconds and this is about 180 images stacked using StarStax
Lots of interest in the Loxia 50 on this forum so I thought I'd post a few portraits I've done with it on the A7R II. Metadata available on flickr pages if you link through.
My previous post included photos taken on a recent trip to Ethiopia. In addition to the Loxia I used the SEL 16-70/4 quite extensively on the A7RII. Many people scoff that it is pointless using an APS-C lens on a 42mp camera but I disagree. Smaller file size, of course, but 18mp is quite good enough for my purposes and I found it a very agreeable 24-105 equivalent combo. Here are some examples.
Photo of Blue Flag Irises taken July 2, 2015 at about 9:25 AM, Schoodic Point near Winter Harbor, Maine, Acadia National Park. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Leica M 90mm f2.5 Summarit lens, ISO 100, lens set to probably f11 for 1/125 second. Exposure corrected by +0.24 Stops and processed in LR6.
A couple of shots taken with Sony A7 and the Loxia 21. The first one is from a public housing estate in Cheung Sha Wan, while the second is from Mei Foo. The Mei Foo project consists of 99 (!) units, and when it was built in in the 60s and the 70s, it was the worlds largest housing project.
I just came back from Bolsa Chica Wetlands, a local wildlife sanctuary and caught this red heron in action. I used Canon 300mm f/2.8 Mark II plus a Canon 1.4X Mark III TC at wide open on the Sony via Metabones. I am pleased with the AF, including the follow focus.
