Photo taken at 7:03 AM on June 6, 2015 looking through the mist in Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Image taken with my tripod mounted Leica R 280mm f4 Apo Telyt lens with my Leica R 1.4X Apo Extender and my A7r; ISO 400, lens set to effective aperture of probably f11 at 1/500 second. Exposure corrected by +0.48 Stops and processed in LR6.
My first time taking photos of the night sky. I've been taking photos for 35 years, but have never attempted to capture the stars. I used open flash on the house and didn't get the lighting as even as I would have liked, but not too bad, either. Both photos were taken with Sony A7II, Tamron 17mm @ f4, ISO 1600. Overall, I'm pleased, but any pointers are welcome.

Charlie N: This is silly, but I kind of wish you posted the pier images with Ghost Pier in between the other two. That would make them flow nicely on the screen. My favourite of the set is Ghost Pier, it has nice b&w tones.
thanks, I'm kind of regretting the processing of ghost pier, it seems off in my set and it's probably the cleanest image I have. I shouldnt have rushed it to flickr, kinda sloppy tbh.
The improvement of Leica Summicron-M 1:2/50mm due to Kolari thin filter in boke is ~1 stop; earlier f/4 was needed to get boke quality into control, but now it seems that f/2.8 is usable on most scenarios. Still I can't figure out why this lens is supposed to be one of the best normal lenses (on era before APO-Summicron) - sure it's sharp, but in any other way I don't find this lens special.
