Phillip...have you compared your Bokina to the Sony 90 macro? I'd be interested to see your thoughts!

I think my Sony Macro is decentered
It performs great at shorter distances with excellent sharpness, bokeh and very little CA but at longer distances stopped down the Bokina is significantly better even in the best corner of the Sony G. I am also underwhelmed by the stabilizer which doesn't make much of a difference on the a7. I can't tell you how pissed off I am by Sony's lousy QC. They sold me a severely decentered 16-70, my a7's shutter died after 30k actuations and it took the incapable contractor in Germany (Geissler) two attempts to fix it. Then the plastic mount came loose and I had to pay shipping to Austria because luckily Sony's contractor there is more able than the one in Germany. Now the 90 Macro.

On one of my last days in Hong Kong I wanted to stroll around in some of the old neighbourhoods in Kowloon. I started off at Sham Shui Po, a quite tired place with plenty of old buildings (oh by the way, old by hong kong standards refers to buildings from the 1960s). From there on I headed towards Prince Edward and further down towards Tai Kok Tsui and Mong Kok. Let me just emphasise that these are extremely crowded areas. Mong Kok is the most dense area in the world, and I am sure that Sham Shui Po is

Beautiful group, Ole! Your tips to visit are perfect. I visited Hong Kong several times in the late 60's and early 70's while breaking from my time in Vietnam. I feel Hong Kong is one of the most intriguing and interesting cities in the World!!!!

Excellent food, tailors, sights, and people!!!!!!

I dropped my 24-70 ZA and it had a slight indentation, making the barrel stiff to zoom. Called Sony, they had some BS policy where they wouldn't even look at the lens for under $370. I had to pay that just to have to lens inspected--the repair would cost more. I ask to talk to a manager, who offers me a factory refurb for a discount at about $1,300. Didn't matter I owned over 8k in Sony gear at the time and shot for pay as I explained.

I bought it to a local shop, they evaluated the lens for free. They fixed it for $130 dollars, and matched the paint. Worked as new. And I have had several bogus lenses from Sony, and their service is miserable.

These are all with another marvellous 50mm, the tiny Konica M-Hexanon 50, which is a delight to use wide open, although it doesn't fit well in a kit, given its idiosyncratic filter size. These are all in an old gold-mining area south of Te Aroha, which is littered with various holes and bits of hardware - this is part of a hauler gear used to lower wagons of ore down a steep incline to the crusher and processing facility. It ceased operation about 100 years ago. John
