The light was not ideal, but after some folks packed up and left, we got a brief window of color on Horsetail. I did not have time to change lenses and to try a different composition. Shooting with A7r2 and Leica R 280/4 apo with 1.4x Apo extender (394mm or so).
Thanks Gregg! Thanks to the amazing DR, flash fill is no longer a necessity for these heavily backlit shots, as you can open up the shadows without any problem.

Some more winter images from CV 50/1.5. Looks like I'll receive the Loxia 50 later today, but of course now we'll have awful weather (around freezing point, strong winds and rain or snow) for a while...
Photo taken October 1, 2015 at 9:10 AM along Heart Lake (Lake owned by the Adirondack Mountain Club), Lake Placid, NY. Raindrops can be seen on the Maple leaves and the conifer tree. Image taken with my tripod mounted Leica R 180mm f3.4 Apo Telyt lens and my A7r. ISO 400, lens set to probably f11 for 1/80 second. Processed in LR6.

Beautiful as always, Helena. I will receive my Loxia this week too! Unfortunately, I am traveling when it arrives (a day late) and will have to wait until next week to enjoy it. I'll be looking closely to you in the mean time!

Great images, the thermal effects in the second image are crazy! I am still waiting for my 70-400 to arrive although I already have the Loxia
Thanks. Yeah, they had a nice fire going on the grill. I could see the heat rising through the VF.
We had a dusting of snow early this morning. Here's a few snaps around the neighborhood with the Voigtlander Ultron 35/1.7. I love how this lens shows the details especially in tree branches. It's flatter rendering works well in this flat light. All at f/8 except the 2nd and 3rd which are WO
A visit to Rome without going to the Coloseum would be a sacrilege. With that said, here are a few dusk shots spread over 2 evenings. The dark side of the crescent moon on the last two shots was quite visible, BTW.
The lens used for the second shot is Canon 14mm f/2.8 Mark II. A few images I took using Batis 25mm were simply too tight and I like the wider view of the 14mm better.
