When we got up this morning the sun was shining and we decided to go ice-skating one last time. Gorgeous weather, so we skated almost to the other end of the lake (which is long and narrow). Just when it was time to turn back some dark clouds showed up and within minutes they covered the whole sky and it started to snow. Shortly after it was a full snow-storm. Fortunately we had the wind in our backs, so getting back to the car went well even though the weather kept getting worse. In fact, it was quite exhilarating. Although afterwards I read on the skating forum that some people had to use GPS to find their way back...
What looks a bit like waves is snow blowing in the wind, like ripples across the ice.
A couple of European Goldfinches shot with the Canon EF 600mm f4 IS II + 1.4x III TC via the MB IV adapter, FW version 0.47. Still not quite fast enough to acquire focus, even with the focus limiter, so I will only use this combo for slower birds in the future.
The Nikon 200mm f/2 makes for a great lens for landscape. These are all in Bellingham, Washington, either along the bay or from the building where I work.
