That bit of color down river on the right bank is the same maple/epihyte subject that I posted earlier as a before & after shot. Here the light level & color temp was low, producing a scene with an usual look to it. This is the uncorrected WB, and seems to match my memory of the moment fairly well.
This was early on in what would become a major storm. I was the only person remaining in the area and wanted to stay longer, but didn't have enough supplies to hunker down for a week to ten days, so I reluctantly retreated in order to resupply with the idea of returning to enjoy to the storm & the solitude…but by the time I reached the highway it became obvious that returning to the high country was impossible.
So this is the last image I have of the Staircase area, Olympic Nat'l Park.
Some shooting around the house on a rainy morning.

I sold this lens and missed it. Something about its character and the way it paints just makes me happy. Saw some beautiful shots from Jack and Helena that got me to buy the lens again.
I like your dog photos Gregg and wouldn't mind seeing more! What a happy looking pair.
Thank you Helena! They are cute, and they stick together pretty well considering they're 11 years apart. Nalah(puppy) really looks up to Rajah, and Rajah does a really good job of tolerating the puppy
There will always be more,btw...and love your ice pics, as well.
Great shot Gregg.. just love your dog shots
Superb set Helena !
Really nice Manu !
Just Love the last shot Gordon
Rene and Werner.. great shots as always my friends
Wow! Truly impressive images on this thread! Kudos to everyone!
Manuel, I love you orchid images!
I am putting my gear together and checking the operation of the gear for a big multi-day event in early February. So, when my grandson is here with me today, I tried a few on him without him knowing, while he was playing. He is more relaxed and his expression is more natural if he is not aware that I have the camera. Here is one of the shots...
I did alot of research on the lens, and basically it's as good as any current 500/4, but manual focus of course Considering the Sony 500/4 is $12000..... Also the build is very tough, but not too heavy for what it is. These were shot from my birding tripod with Manfrotto 3421 Gimble head.
