Random smattering of images. I received an A7 two weeks ago. CV 35mm 1.4.
Mini-review:
I have some issues focusing A7 in high contrast situations, where everything shows peaking. I generally use peaking on MED indoors and LOW outside. I shoot with rangefinders normally and this camera gives much more accurate focus.
The quality of images is unrivaled in my experience. I shoot 35mm film, and scan with a Nikon Coolscan IV, but the tonal gradation and dynamic range is better with the A7. I have not been able to blow highlights out yet. The images that come from the camera remind me of the Mamiya 645 Pro TL I used to shoot with.. meaning 120 film. They are amazing.
Battery life is fine for me. I have shot in 15°F weather without an issue. One battery can last multiple days, though I shoot like I'm shooting film (10 - 15 images per outing). Image review is turned off, display on AUTO and camera turned off between shots.

shot a series of skies with heavy clouds this evening. Found my first occurrence of the purple "target shape" embedded in the color channels with the FE35 when I started playing in pp... Now I can see it on many of the files. Very disappointing. Not going to work for my uses. I will trade for the 55 for now and hope sony has plans for a revised 35 down the line. I am interested in suggestions for a decent legacy 35 that would give honorable results without spending leica bucks ? Or is there a good 35 for A-mount ?
