Hi René,
on the first image, there are artefacts at the back of the subject, is that because of post-processing? I noticed it on other images taken with Sony A7x..

René, your B&W images are a treat to look at. To my eyes, this set has a different "feel" than what I usually see from you, brighter, not as contrasty. Just wonder if you changed your usual PP.

Douglas
Thanks for your comment Douglas.
is another processing. it always depends on camera, lens and weather (sunlight, etc.) continously same results are not possible for me. am not an expert.
Moreover, my editor is often dependent on my mood.

thanks for the comment Arli.
It is probably a 'dirty' processing. thank you for your valued Note. if you like, I show the original.
Charles...nice images with 50L. I used that lens a lot when I shot my 1D4 or 5D(1&2)...great lens. Great portraits!
Jack...if you could wait to do the comparison before you sell the SEM, I think you'd be much happier. I think the Loxia 21 will rock and save a few extra steps in post....
I know my shots with the SEM aren't anything to write home about(I'm still not used to shooting wide, but I'm sure as hell trying!!)
Gregg
A7rM and Leica M SEM 21 3.4
Jack, if it is small size and sharpness that you are looking for in a Loxia 21,you cannot but be delighted. It is outstanding on both counts.Other aspects you might like or not, but not size and sharpness.

Phillippe,
I went to dear Susan and checked out the mini review by you and Pascal. So far, it looks very promising! Will we have to wait until the lens is actually out for a full write up?
That is in discussion right now. Zeiss have received massive pre-orders, and have only so many demo lenses. But they like DearSusan despite my best efforts...

I am still going to stay with my WATE. The Loxia may be sharper and provide more EXIF information, not require an adapter, and has a smaller filter size. But, with my Phigment adapter and my WATE I have much more flexibility for focal lengths and recently the Loxia would not have allowed me to take some images without me possibly falling into a river and or down stream possibly to my death. Additionally the Loxia 21mm is about the weight of WATE with my Phigment adapter. With the adapter for the filters on my WATE though it is heavier than the Loxia.
Besides, at this point it is quite likely that I will be purchasing the Zeiss 35mm f1.4 ZM lens.

I am very excited about it. hope does not have to wait too long stock up in Switzerland.

Rich, you won't be disappointed. Sure it's big for an M lens, but man , it can produce some stellar results!! And as you shoot mainly stopped down, you'll be amazed how sharp and deep it goes into the corners. Have you decided which camera, yet?

Hi Greg,
To start with I am going to send my A7r into Kolari early next week finally for the thin sensor modification. After I get it back though I am going to have to try and either use what Michael has posted for adjustment for WB and color profile for the new sensor, or try to figure out how to adjust the color. Hiep will be helpful I am sure.
I also hope to get an A7rII later sometime next year providing I can get one for a good price and I can afford it. I will then have both cameras and will start with the stock camera and decide if I get a Kolari Mod later, probably after the Warranty would run out on the camera. Jack has been pleased with the lens on the stock camera so that may be OK.
Couple more questions: first off, I can't figure out how to zoom-in on photos here on FM; so, my judgement is based on the screen image only (which looks sharp). Any clues about the how-to's for website zooming?
And, while I hope your copy of the 70-200 is perfect, I just returned mine to B&H because of a soft lower right-hand corner. Previously, I'd owned the f/4 versions of both the Canon and Nikon, and each was stellar, so I didn't even bother to closely-test the Sony until just after the 30-day return period had expired. Fortunately, B&H was gracious enough to allow an exchange. New copy won't arrive for another week, but rest assured I will give it the once-over before sticking it in my gear bag. Again, hope your copy is a good one . . .
