Thanks Jack. I might do that. John, the owner of the SEM21 lets me use his lenses for as long as I like, as long as he's not shooting
I've got the Loxia 21 on pre order, also.
Ronny..great macros!
A7rM and ZM 35D 1.4
Gregg, indeed SEM21 is a fabulous lens, but I would wait till December for Loxia 21. I am not sure how close Loxia 21 will come to SEM21, but at least it would reduce PP steps of removing colour cast.
Jack, Gregg, I played with Loxia 21 today. It is so sharp it is sick, and it has tremendous close-up performance. Zeiss people make great claims about its technical prowess. I was a bit jaded, though, having just previously tried the sick/awesome Otus 28mm.
Here is one example. The full size picture, and the close-to-100% crop, both SOOC.
Ronny, a hurried test on a show is not a proper testing ground. All I can say is that Zeiss are saying Loxia is better in the corners wide open than the ZE/ZF 21 Distagon, and what I have seen does not contradict that. But a double negative is far less than a positive statement..
Pascal and I should publish our shots on DearSusan shortly. Due to schedule constraints, I haven't seen his shots yet, so maybe he has a clear answer. I used it mostly at f:4.0, and corners are clearly free of any "A7 problem"
