Still haven't been able to go out shooting...so here's more stuff from around the house. I have to say, the A7RII does really well handheld at high ISO (casual shooting at home).
Photo taken October 3, 2015 about 2 minutes after sunset along Adirondack Loj Road near the intersection of Route 73, Lake Placid, NY. This is in the Adirondack Mountains. Image taken with my tripod mounted Sony A7r and my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens, ISO 100, lens set to probably f8 for 1/100 second. Processed in LR6.
Some seriously nice images this page! Wow!
Helena...the wood posts in the water is a wall hanger! Really awesome! And I like the red barn(?) shot after that, too!
Jack...blown away by your images from China(again!!)...the last shot of the little boy is spectacular!
Heaven...very nice images up top. I agree with Michiel, the second is really nice!
A couple from yesterday while working....and I have to give a shout out to Jack, as I feel I follow in his footsteps when it comes to lens selection. While talking to one of my customers yesterday(he's an Fm'r and a big Leica guy) about lenses, and we were discussing 28mm's, and he brought up one of his fav wide angles. Turns out, he just happened to have an M Super Elmar 21/3.4...
And he let me borrow it

The leica does show some quality. I tried selling my SUmmilux but everytime i find a buyer i go into a shell to not sell. That lens is so good and has a unique character that i love.
I picked a cheap 16-50 lens but on trying on the A7s it doesnt look like a great lens even stopping down to f11. At 35-50mm the lens is pretty good. But at 16mm there is no vignetting but the sharpness and distortion kills it . For 40 bucks its totally worth it for size and form factor.
I just received an LA-EA3 adaptor today which I mounted on my A7R with a Zeiss/Sony 24mm f2 A mount lens. The rig is a bit big but when compared to a 35 f1.4 Zeiss it is actually a 1/2" shorter and weighs only a bit more - about 5%. Overall the camera with lens is now in DSLR territory for size and weight .. but at least it is a wonderful lens fulfilling my wide angle needs.
Auto focus works but a bit slow .. several chugs, then it settles in. My only real problem was that when manual focusing I could not get the viewfinder to enlarge the view for fine focus?? If anyone knows how to get it to do that I would greatly appreciate a PM.
Some with the 25 Batis. These are super quick edits...won't have time to really sit down and process them fully until tonight, so you may see them change slightly over time.
Gregg, indeed SEM21 is a fabulous lens, but I would wait till December for Loxia 21. I am not sure how close Loxia 21 will come to SEM21, but at least it would reduce PP steps of removing colour cast. BTW, if you end up using SEM21 for a few days and need SEM21 profiles for all apertures in CornerFix, please PM me.
