I'm jealous. I was only in Vancouver for 4 days and absolutely loved all the photo ops and locales out there. I plan on visiting again. So much more to see.
That batis looks like its working well for you, Tim, and I love the light in your Utah shots, Dale.
Here are three from our garden this afternoon, where the warmer weather has brought out the first hatch of praying mantis - little guys about 8 mm long. These are taken with my Canon Macrophoto 35 direct mounted onto an FD adapter, and with off camera flash via a synch cord - works much better on the A7RII than the A7R, where shutter shock made it virtually unusable, even with flash. Lots of rejects given the razor thin depth of field. The third image isn't so sharp, but it was only when I was processing it that I noticed the extra leg in the background of a native cricket disappearing over the edge of the flower. Who knows - I probably saved him from becoming a mantis dinner
Photo taken, October 4, 2015 at 8:27 AM looking across Heart Lake (Lake owned by the Adirondack Mountain Club), Lake Placid, NY. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens. ISO 100, lens set to approximately f11 for 1/25 second and exposure corrected by about + 1/2 stop.. Processed in LR6.
Another 2 from Saltstraumen Norway ... the place with the strongest tidal current in the world.
A7RII + Canon 17mm/4 T/S
The image is very soft due to open aperture and the shift position.... I am new to this lens so.... lesson learned
I was in Vancouver for a conference back in July. I believe I posted one pic after I got back that I took. Anyways, the wildfires had things hazy, but it made for some interesting shots I guess. Here's another I took...single shot, I'm still surprised of the detail considering the silly amount I cropped it. Was more for fun just to see what a 36mp sensor could handle. Detail is obviously a lot better if you click on the link.
I'm really enjoying these pics! Here are two A7r pics - first is with the Canon 135mm LTM f/3.5 and the second is stitched using the Voigtländer 90mm f/3.5 APO-Lanthar. Both of these lens are keepers for me.

That first shot leaves me scratching my head as to what is going on, Dave - I take it a tight-rope walker being checked out by a large eagle? Great clarity, but I think I would definitely prefer to be the photographer
