Hmm... I'll be going on a trip abroad in a week and I'm really torn about what to bring. Some hiking is expected so it can't be too heavy. Yesterday I took my usual walk to try and convince myself that FE 28 and the Ricoh GW3 wide angle converter will be good enough.
However, I was reminded that FE28 is a fine lens for closer subjects (up to 10 meters or so), but for wide landscapes my C/Y 28/2.8 is noticeably better and while the Ricoh GW3 is slightly better than my CY 18/4 none of them are particularly good. So, I have ordered the new Voigtländer 15mm and we'll see how that works out.
(The first two shots are with the GW3 converter, which you can see from the dark corners.)

Derek, this lunar eclipse pic is one of the best I've seen
Very interesting selection of lenses in the last pages... thanks to all for sharing!
Yesterday I decided to pick up my Canon New FD 24mm f/2.8 after many weeks for some tests... it is not so bad but needs some PP to adjust results then I think my copy is not perfect because WO seems a bit matt on the corners, not only less sharp than the center part of the frame... seems there is a "flou" effect on corners

Agnostic...The Kiron 28/2 seems like a decent lens! Nice images.

Thanks! It's Vivitar branded, probably Kiron or Komine I guess. I've had it for a while, got it in a lot with a Canon AE1 and some Canon FD lenses. It's pretty beat up cosmetically but optically and mechanically it's still fine. I hadn't actually bothered shooting with it but I was pleasantly surprised when I took it along today.
