Photo taken at 10:20 PM on August 13, 2015 of a portion of the Milky Way during the Perseid Meteor Shower in Big Meadows, Shenandoah National National Park, Virginia. Upon viewing this at higher magnification meteors can be seen that have at least for now been left in the image. Image taken with my tripod mounted Leica R 28mm f2.8 Elmarit V2 lens and my A7r, ISO 6400, lens set to f2.8 for 8 seconds. Processed in LR6.

Bob: Those loons look good. Did you stop down to f8 because you wanted more DOF or do you get the impression that wide-open the lens isn't sharp enough on the long end?
Chris, it was definitely for a little more DOF. At the long end, the DOF is so small that sometimes you need to stop down depending on the image.

Joshua, I have to say your images with the FE16-35 are incredible! Are you using AF or MF . . . just curious.
Thank you very much, Bob! I used AF mode but I selected the AF point/s based on what DOF I felt necessary to achieve the effect I needed/wanted.
The Tamron seems to work out for you. So, yours is an A-mount and you use it with an LA-EA3, correct. Those are impressive, Bob!

Joshua: Those church shots are extremely impressive. Looks very much like Medium Format to me.
Chris, thank you so very much! Both you and I took advantage of the IBIS in our camera body. It worked our great since tripod is not allowed in the church .
Those are impressive images from Tokyo, Chris!
My Batis 85mm was delivered 45 minutes before I had to go on a photoshoot. I snapped a few images just to make sure that it was not DOA. I didn't bother to download those test shots and I just took off.
Here are the first few images from last night. The idea was to take fashion under artificial lighting, including a fair amount of the surrounding. The location was at the Pasadena City Hall. Flash was not necessary but I used it in a few shots set to "slow" and I bounced it off a nearby wall. Yes, the camera was on the tripod 100% of the time. I tried using the lowest ISO setting allowable under those circumstances and I told the model, Crystal, not to move during the exposure that lasted up to 1 sec. Still, I noticed that some images were blurry due to the model movement. I took plenty of shots and it doesn't look like I missed anything .
Werner...awesome set! Love the "Wine Walk IV"...
Rene...also awesome set! Incredible detail in the FE 28. Mine is currently with a good friend!
Michiel...love your Summicron pics! Great lighting!
Helena...stellar, as always. You're eye, IMO is as good as it gets! You also make the FE 28 shine!
Rich...great stars! Are you going to use the FDn 500 for the blood moon tonight?
Bob...and that 150-600mm would be awesome, too, for the moon tonight!! How's the weather in the lake this late Sept?
My wife and I just celebrated 14 yrs together(married at least!!). We went to San Francisco for an AC/DC concert at ATT park(SF Giants stadium) and it rocked. Earlier in the day, we actually walked across the GoldenGate bridge for the first time EVER! It was gorgeous, and the weather couldn't have been better!
