Charlie: Sorry, I think I had forgotten to say thanks for your friendly comment re my 6:19 pm shot last week.
Michiel: Amazing lightning.
Joshua: Those church shots are extremely impressive. Looks very much like Medium Format to me.
Werner: Wonderful shallow DOF shot with beautiful reflections thrown in as an extra.
Bob: Those loons look good. Did you stop down to f8 because you wanted more DOF or do you get the impression that wide-open the lens isn't sharp enough on the long end?
absolutic: Beautiful hammer shots. Great to see that there is progress with Canon lenses and AF on the a7rii.
Here are two recent pictures I took in Tokyo. Both with the a7rii and the FE 55 1.8. I didn't have a tripod with me, so I shot the second one wide open. It's still reasonably sharp which is a testament to the amazing lens that Sony created with the little 55 1.8.

its not bad but I did had a point where the autofocus just stopped. I had to detach and reattach the lens and it went on smoothly after that. That was with 135L... not a big deal for me, but if one is doing a professional shoot, like wedding or something, this could be frustrating. However, I have not experienced it with shorter lenses like 85 1.8 and shorter
In these I'm testing a 300/2.8 Nikon AIS, which arrived today and appeared to be in good condition. But I could not get a thing long range at 2.8. Maybe it can't do that. But I did not use a tripod. The shorter shots seemed OK. I fear I may return it.
We went on a little drive around Trondheim yesterday, and I think we got some of the magical autumn light that Peire talked about on a couple pages ago.
