Thanks everyone....shooting through glass was a challenge but once south of the crater it cleared up of flare and reflections. Being up there really gave me a sense of the blast and how it flattened anything in every direction.

and since the Fire Station was open....
Sr Advanced by unoh7,WO at F/3.5, baby. Really has some grit. Thank you, Max Berek Leica built the business on this lens. Just wish I could collapse it into the A7. (It will do on the M9)
On thing I cannot do yet with the Sony is make nice skies under the sun, like the first shot here. Sun behind is OK. M9 can give me deep blues right under the sun with a good lens like the SEM 21. Oh well, practice makes....somewhat better
But it was a joy to carry the A7 with this tiny lens, and I had a little Skopar 35 on the M9.

Phillip, Great set! Where is this?
I made a trip to the Saxon Switzerland this weekend. The images posted were taken close to the Bastei Philber mentioned but from a not that acessible place.
I accompanied Phillip Zieger who lives in the area and we had a totally awesome weekend. Saturday morning we were a bit unlucky with the light, it was okay but far worse that the forecast.
While in Melbourne I went to check out a Loxia at the only camera store that showed them as being in stock - I'd been tossing up between this and the new Ultron 35mm F/1.7 which has been long promised down under, but has proved to be rather scarce. When I indicated my interest in the Ultron, the salesperson indicated that they had just received their first one, so after a quick trial with it, I put my money down.
I've shot a range of stuff with it since, and am mostly very impressed - very compact and light (220 gm), none of the glow of my old FD 35 F/2 when used wide open, and nice out of focus rendering. Central sharpness is noticeably ahead of the FD all the way up to about F/8 from wide open, although the corners don't sharpen up quite as fast or as far as they do on the FD. The most disappointing aspect is that I'm getting a slight magenta cast around the periphery, although it corrects very easily with a radial filter preset in LR. And I'm really appreciating using just one adapter with the Heliar 15, Ultron 21 and Ultron 35. Here are a few samples...
