Wilhelm, spent almost whole Saturday outdoors hiking & photographing, first daylight time (5+ hours) in -20C (-4F) and continued on evening to shoot some moonlight stuff at evening. For my fingers FE55 was metallic enough... Seriously speaking "the feel" is OK, if it would has same weight as ZE/ZF-lenses the combination would become too nose-heavy (specially considering the overall small size of camera and lack of proper grip).
Carl Zeiss Sonnar T* 2.8/35 FE @ f/8.0, 505s (was aiming to 8 minute exposure but went little too far when scouting for next shot, but it's not that critical in long exposures), ISO 100 @ A7R
Wfrank; don't you have any problems with flare/ghostlights with your C/Y 100/2? I do.
Made a ring in the adapter for it and will test it tomorrow.
What kind of adapter do you use?

And thanks. A FE55 should be heading my way now. Found a used copy at a SWE forum for some 250€ less than new. Thanks goes to FM:ers here showing the FE55-capabilities and thereby accelerating my already problematic GAS
For the weight:
I am 100% handheld and in the light that most small RF lenses are no good - or at least present some kind of compromise - I will use my SLR lenses with some exceptions (like the semi-heavy CV 35/1.2II). And while it would be nice with less weight it matters a bit less than for you I assume. The CY100/2 is the heaviest prime I have and comparing it for example with the also excellent Contax G90 you'll shoot much more steady with a lens like the CY100. You get more of a rifle feel (exaggerated!) - using two hands - compared to the more pistol like A7+G90 combo if you see what I mean.

Thanks. For me best handhold lens still is Distagon 1.4/35. I don't yet have any Leica M-mount lenses, but Contax G45 and G90 for sure are not for handhold shooting (size, grip and the focusing mechanism & ring position). For my usual tripod work I like the small lenses very much (G45, G90, FE35, FE55) as long as they deliver quality - I will not select size over quality. Large lenses (well I don't have any just ZE2/135 and Leica 180/2.8) with Metabones adapter are OK thanks to Metabone's Arca-Swiss connection to tripod head.

No I havent seen that. In fact I havent seen it on any of my so far 650 exposures with any lens. But on the other hand I havent been looking very thorough.
I use mid-expensive KIWI fotos adapters. Rock steady so far. I buy them locally but I've seen them available at amazon.co.uk. After having used multiple brand adapters for CY and other lenses on a Canon 5D2 I can only say good things. I have KIWI for M-mount too and as a first, for all lenses tried so far the hard infinity stop equals the optimum. This was never the case for the 5D2. Tested lenses are not all but the CY list is 28/2.8, 35/1.4, 50/1.4, 85/1.4 and 100/2. M mount is only the CV 35/1.2II.
KIWIs got matte black interior if it matters. And the external finish is good. Here's the CY100/2 combo - and yet another shot from yesterday with it. At least it is light, I found no shots into the sun as I dont do that much. Maybe flaring is a more prone problem for things like that... do you get flaring at "any" light?
@ Wilhelm, thanks, What I find is pale areas, almost all the time, on the top left and right, very strange. I can even see it in the viewfinder. My no name adapter is black matte inside as well but I think it is the chrome parts of the lens mount. Anyway I have been so busy with my FD lenses that I did not spend much time with th C/Y Zeiss lenses. I will report back on this later. I am glad it does not happen for you.

This is not a very good lens but this one worked out well compared to the same image with the Canon FD 100/2 (sharper) This was wide open FL 105mm
(You can't always judge a photo by looking at the lens )

Michiel - yep, that's at the Olympic Sculpture Garden here in Seattle. Good eye! I didn't know the artist. Thanks for the tip - now that I know the title of it after looking him up, I have a title for this shot:

It was covered by MS-Optics in Japan. I don't see any corner problems although I have not used it extensively (just got it last week). In the film days, Leica Minilux is one of my favorite P&S camera because of the lens.

yeah, i've heard great things about the lens. kinda figured it'd have smearing issues on the a7r so i didn't look into it much.
The quality of the conversion was good. The lens is feather weight and smaller than the Leica/Minolta 40/2. In terms of performance, I like it better than the Leica/Minolta 40/2. It has better contrast and center sharpness, but small aperture of f2.4.
