Last week I was expecting my Batis 85mm, but now in Australia it will not be available for another few months. This did frustrate me, and even though I have the 75 Lux, I needed an excellent portrait lens.
Fortunately there are many that are trying to sell the ZA 135mm f/1.8 as it is being phased out, so I just received it this morning at a great price Also arrived the LA EA4 adapter. I was very unsure about my decision about the weight and size, and using the LA EA4 adapter, but I am thrilled having a superb 135mm with f/1.8 with really good AF. I generally only use limited points as to not lock on the incorrect detail, so it is great. The MF implementation is excellent also. This lens just works!!!
Here are first shots of my wife in the office this morning. No sharpening and virtually no PP'ing.
Any considering a 135mm option, this is an excellent option until there are further offerings from Zeiss/Sony.
Having the 75 Lux, I am relucatant to buy the FE 90 for portraits as it is too close in FL.
Here are 25 shots with the A7 and FE 35/2.8 stitched together in LR6. A good bit of cropping was necessary. The only real problem was it took about 30 minutes for LR to create the panorama.
And of course panoramas need not be paroramas; they can be any shape. I was curious how this would compare to a UWA lens. Of course the look is different.

Charles the shots look great; the lens works very well for portraits. Out of curiosity how do you find using the LA-4? Does it add a lot of weight.
Let me also say that you are a very lucky man. You not only have a beautiful wife, but you have a wife who is willing to act as a model for you. I'm afraid I exhausted my wife's patience a long time ago, and I have a feeling I am not alone in that.

Thank you Michael I was like thinking the LA-4 would be an issue, but in reality it is not. I feel there are many great lenses out there, and yes the weight/size can be an issue, but at least you have a choice
So many great shots! Charles (congrats on the the new lens!) Rioni, Ocean (that first shot of Mt Hua dropped my jaw), Bob, Michael (superb pano!), Jack! Congrats to all!
An attempt at portrait, thanks to a willing model/victim. This is new stuff for me. Otus 55.

The photos I just posted look awfully soft, nothing like they do on my smug mug or on my Mac, like the scaling is off.
What am I doing wrong?
Yup, that is a quite common experience. Resizing your photos before posting seems to be the key. I got a lot of inspiration from this thread: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1159959

Very common problem when downsizing huge files to show here. What I do is export them between 900-1100 pixels tall depending on subject matter & aspect ratio.
Then I use Nik Output Sharpening 3.0 @ 30-35% strength on the small jpg.
Then show that file here at its full size.
