Keep in mind, my opinion is coming from shooting all 12mp and 16mp bodies. D700/DF/D4

It's fine. My old d7000 used to have all negative fine tuning values.

Thanks! As I said in the other post, great shots. Your flickr is filled with TONS of great images! I love how you added motion blur on the train BTW

Shawn, they're all excellent, as usual, BUT #9 stands out.

Not a lot of people are a fan of these 58's. Some don't even last a week... https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1328912
That 85G kills it... o_O

Because everything is about sharpness and instant gratification these days. The 58 makes people work their ass off for both.

This is a special shot...

My wife went to visit her mother today at the cemetery... on her mother's birthday. She passed away a little over a year ago.

Sort of freaking out right now...

Went out this morning for a couples shoot. The 58 back focused on almost everything. Mine has always been bang on. I wonder if it being below freezing had any effect. Weird as hell.

Edit - I've never strobed with my 58 before; I wonder if that did it.

Were you using the red AF assist pattern projected by the SB flash? That is known to cause issues.

I was using the PW flex and mini, just the mini on the camera without a flash. Luckily it was just a series of pics and not the whole session. Oddly enough, the shots where it back focused by a mile, the flash/flex was no where remotely close. Literally about 150/200 yds away.

All I know is I'm loving my "film" look because I import into LR and don't do anything. The default settings I made does the trick.

Nice set Jason. I like the last one! It seems like it’s still pretty warm in PA. It was FREEZING today up here!

Oh, and I’m sloooowly but surely emerging from that film look. Film VSCO stuff only works on about 30% of my shots.

I have back focusing issues also when strobing with 85 1.4G and Sigma 35 1.4 Art. This only happens when I'm in Af-S mode. The second I put it on AF-C it gets much more accurate and almost no misses. I'm using YN622 with SB700.
