Thanks! It is great to be back. Haven't really been taking day to day photos much the last year or maybe 2.... Kind of lost my photo mojo. Been taking more photos lately and obviously, the 58G is still my favourite lens for most of my work.
Great to see familiar faces like yourself still creating amazing photos!

Beautiful pictures. The lens shines in these situations (I was thinking this is just a low-light people lens). Kudos.
Thank you so much! Appreciate a lot! I think 58/1.4G is a great all-around travel lens. Or maybe I'm just used to this FOV and focal length. My first camera was my grandpa's old soviet union FED-4 with Industar 61 length which shares 2/55 parameters. It was incredible soviet style Leica/Zeiss copy - https://casualphotophile.com/2018/07/30/industar-61-l-d-lens-review/
So definitely Nikon 58/1.4G is my most beloved lens! I'm like a child with it! Lots of fun and joy!

Lots of photos from our New Zealand trip. Love the versatility of the 58mm. I use it for landscapes more often than one would think!
Superb.
Every time I think I'm over this lens I see images like this and I'm hooked all over again. Damn you, lol.
I sold mine back when I was using DSLRs because focus was so unreliable wide open. Objectively it falls short of the "brick wall" tests but its rendering is just wonderful.

The lens was gorgeous on F bodies when it nailed focus -- which was unfortunately rare. On Z bodies with the FTZ, it's a whole new animal and probably my favorite lens of all time, though the 105/1.4 isn't far behind...

Excellent stuff, Corey. Great to know you still have it and that the family still allows you to take pictures of them. Signature can shot. You've been missed in this thread.

Thanks! Ya, the lens doesn't test well and I could see how a lot of people would sell it after the frustration of focusing it on F mount bodies. Rendering really is special though!

I have the same issue w my Sigma Art 50. Just used it (again) on my Nikon F6 and wide open the results were not consistently in focus. Experienced the same on my old D850. But when I use it on my Z7, perfect. Lenses like that and the 58 1.4 are optimized when used on a mirrorless body.
So many great images here. I am using Fuji with XF 35 f1.4 since 4 years which is also kind of a magic lens like this 58mm but lately I have a really bad GAS for buying Nikon Z f + 58 f1.4 and be done with it. It would be my comeback to Nikon after my D600 times. I tested some cameras and lenses during those years including A7c with 50 f1.2 GM but nothing comes close to this 58mm lens in rendering. All new stuff is clinically sharp with no soul in the image.
