Nice shots The lens shines in this rainy overcast weather.
Thank you Hussain! I was a bit bummed to find out that it would be raining on the same day as Grand Parade, and despite getting myself and my gear soaked in the process, I'm glad it did rain as the mood of the festival took on a life of its own compared to the previous years. The rain soaked pavement, rain flurries and umbrellas all combined to breathe a life of its own.
Next month in San Francisco is Carnaval, which shouldn't have a rain cloud in the sky. I'll definitely be bringing my 58/1.4g and possibly an ND filter to boot!

I haven't been shooting much other than snapshots around the house, no time anymore. If I do have time to myself, I'm playing with guns. The little guy is almost 2, so we should start doing a lot of hikes in the woods again soon so hopefully I'll start pounding on the 58 again. I've been using the 85 a lot lately, but the 58 still gets plenty of love.
I'm venturing into portraits with the help of a friend who does this sort of thing for a living. Luckily, a lot of his friends aren't very camera shy. I'm more of a street, documentary and family moments type of photographer, so this is totally out of my zone. Plus, I'm horribad at Photochop. Give me Lightroom any day. :P
