I have mastin labs. Bought them, unfortunately I don't use them as much as VSCO.
Mastin gives me worse skin color than VSCO and that's the most important thing for me.
Otherwise, they do come close to film, perhaps even closer than VSCO.

Here's to hoping the D750 and 58 like eachother, should be here tomorrow. Also to hoping the df & d610 actually sell so wife doesn't shoot me.
I love the body size of the D750. I'm sure it will pair amazingly well with the 58mm. Autofocus should be a step up from the df & 610 as well!
As for the wife killing you... well, join the club. My wife is none to pleased about the 105mm purchase.
Figuring out how to use this lens for landscape. You can't expect monster detail and crazy microcontrast like a classic landscape lens. Abstract fields of color and tone seem to be its thing.
The D750 and 58 are getting along nicely thus far. I've got to completely cook up a new preset in LR for this camera so my pictures are going to be processed weird until I do.
These are beautiful! I know the 58 is tack sharp closed down but are you shooting wide open perhaps? The rendering here is gorgeous. This actually makes we want to try this lens on my F100 with some b&w film!

Was that question directed to me?
If so, I shoot the 58mm wide open 90% of the time. But when I stop it down, I mostly stop it down to F2.0 and It's really sharp by then...
If I need to stop it down 2.8 or more, I just use my 24-70mm instead.
I used to own an F100... Man what a lovely camera that was. I may pick one up again someday.

I'm loving the AF, better than the d4 in that regard. I'm really liking the whole thing. Really regret waiting so long.
Are you a back button AFer? Does the lack of AF ON and square eyepiece bug you? Those are the things holding me back from taking the jump. I like my old D700 layout.

Jason can you elaborate on your experience? I'm going to be selling my D600 soon and I'm wondering if I should buy a D750 or just wait until the next generation comes out. I've always admired the D750 AF system, but as a center focus and recompose guy I'm not sure how much value it brings. I know it's rated down to like -3EV vs -1EV on the D600 but I don't really shoot in dim light that often. I think the D750 has the same sensor as the D600/D610 unless I'm mistaken. The tilt screen definitely looks like a good addition but I'm trying to understand what other value it brings that I might be missing. Any input you might have or anyone else for that matter who has transitioned from a D600/D610 to a D750 would be helpful.

One can remap the AE AF-Lock to be used as an AF-On button instead...
Just got the 105mm and used it a bit for a photoshoot this evening but the 58mm was definitely not forgotten. Love using it for environmental portraits.
The 105mm & 58mm are definitely the Ying and the Yang for me.

Yes, I back button AF and it doesn't bother me. Square eyepiece is fine too.
