I'm alive. Just not shooting much, but not for a lack of trying. 4 y/o has zero interest in the camera, 1 y/o attacks the camera like a wolverine so only wide angle works. 1 y/o is walking now, so pretty soon I'll be able to take the kids on hikes again where I get the best shots. Oh well, patience I guess...
Edit - Also thinking of dumping the DF and D610 for...D750? D810? Dunno yet. Any takers?
I'm running into the same issue. My daughter is not a big fan of the camera anymore so it's really hard to take nice pictures of her. I'm trying but I'm not having a ton of success...

She has this amazing smile, but if I say "smile/cheese/etc." I get this weird twisted face haha
Hi all, just signed up to the FM forum. Have been following this thread for a while and finally pulled the trigger on a used copy of the 58 1.4G a couple of weeks ago. Love it so far although only have had time to shoot it a bit. Was totally excited to post an image or two but realised I have to pay to post on FM - is that really true? :-(
Thanks all for your wonderful images and Jason_Brook for our communication last week on Flickr.

Fair enough, I just subscribed now. :-)
One of my first street images with the 58. I feel it shows it's amazing handling of light.
Hope it looks okay resolution wise, just an upload from iPad.
Guys, I'm going to be selling my DF and D610. I'd like to give you guys first shot at them if you're interested. Shoot me a PM if remotely interested. I jumped on a D750
No SOOC JPEG. However this is not full resolution and probably a bit of camera shake. But I'm getting my 58 calibrated at Nikon Service tomorrow, as my copy is on +20 in AF fine tune.
A few more from the 58mm mixed with a couple images from the AF-S 35mm f/1.8G and the AF 135mm f/2 DC.
I am in vacation in France with a set of primes (all Nikon); 20-35-58-135DC-300PF. I am trying to always shoot wide open to learn the lenses characteristics at this setting. The 135mm has the DC ring set to R2.
There was a cuban style band in town last night, the 58mm was my main lens with the 35mm used for some wider shots and the 135mm for closeups. I was able to be close to the stage, even on the stage at times behind the musicians or to their side. If was fun and a new exercise for me. I am quite pleased with some of the images from the three lenses.
D750 with AF-S 58mm at f/1.4 for all images except noted, ISO 800, 1/160s to 1/200s, handheld. No flash, no sharpening.
