Yeah the Ektars are a PITA to work with. I am enjoying Replichrome's Portras & their b&w a lot though.

Meh, I have it and rarely play with it. I took Portra 400, modified it, and that's what I always use. For some reason I just started playing with Ektar 100, I doubt it'll last because it's too hard to make look pleasant.

Portra 400 using Replichrome. I set the grain to zero.
dang i want Replichrome bad but its too expensive for me right now lol. i'm using tweaked VSCO settings but the skin ones and greens dont come close to Replichrome or Mastin Labs.

It's a really powerful and versatile plugin. I haven't gotten the hang of it yet. Watch out for their sales, sometimes it's 40% off.
I can't hardly get my 1424f28 off my D750 but want to (for fun with creativity) give this lens a try again. I rented it and for my run-and-gun toddler shooting it was just too soft (initial impression was consistent with lab reports).
But there is magic in it's rendering potential. Thanks to everyone for sharing their pics. The hits and (sometimes) misses are really appreciated. Borrow lenses here I come again.

Hussein, how do you like Replichrome vs VSCO? I have a few VSCO film packs and a Mastin Labs but somehow I don't like Mastin Labs anymore. I keep going back to a simple Fuji 160+ preset lately...
I need to switch to Canon... Skin tones are day and night difference. Nikon colors suck...

Try a D800/e/D810 before you say nikon colors suck. I hated the D700 colors which was very similar to the D3 and D3S. others say they LOVED D700 colors. I feel that the D700/D3/D3s Colors were very magenta biased compared to the D800 which others say is too green based lol.
I dont see the green in mine but do make sure to nail white balance as perfect as possible in camera first before trying to fix it in post.
forgot about this one. big sister wanted to get in front of the camera on her little sisters newborn session day. the newborn photos were shot with 35 and 50 ART lenses so ill save those for another thread since they aren't 58 specific.
