Took the 58 for some fun at the park today... I do like how it renders, both in colors and in bokeh transition. It still is no 200 f/2 though, but given its size and weight, it will certainly find much more time in our bag.
My new toy. I have always wanted to try mirrorless so I took the plunge the other day. Wanted a camera/lens combo to take with me for everyday shooting. I have tossed around getting a a7II for a long time but I just couldn't justify buying into another full frame system and I still don't see the full benefits of a full frame mirrorless system when you have to put on chunky full frame glass. It defeated the purpose of a mirrorless system and I'd rather shoot with a D750/Df etc...
So I started researching smaller sensor mirrorless. Almost jumped on the new nikon J5 but it didn't have an EVF. Ended up with the cool looking E-M5 II from olympus. Haven't used it yet other than in-store but loved the small size, build quality and the IBIS.

Just so you guys know, if you run over a golf flag pole, and the pole decides to spring out the side of the golf cart and smash into your lens, the 58 will take it. I'm just really hoping the DF is okay.... I have a feeling it's not....
These are the shots the camera took during the beating on the golf cart (it was hanging off my side from a holdfast money maker)
I had to sell my $700 Gitzo legs and BH-55 Back when I was saving money for my wedding
Anyways, here's one more before bed. I'm quickly skimming through pictures and just editing a handful that I like for now, getting them ready for my blog.
The 58G seriously keeps impressing me... Makes me wanna go medium format...
