My wife took these photos, so credit goes to her. We just got our D750 and 58/1.4G lens. The lens really does have a special look to it, although we are still having trouble getting sharp shots wide open. Nevertheless, even at f/2.5 the bokeh impresses...
I'm seeing great photos here! I'm not sure I am seeing anything very unusual though from another 50. It looks like many of these images are front focusing though.
I've seen a flurry of 58mms for sale in the B&S of late. Perhaps its the effect like when you buy a car and notice everyone else with the same car In any case, I couldn't resist picking one up, so we shall soon see what all the fuss is about! I remain skeptical but open minded. Expect to see a blind taste test from me comparing it to the 50 1.8g and the Sigma 50 (non-art). Fun times!
Some don't see much difference between a Tamron 70-200 2.8 VC ($1200) and a Nikon 200 F/2 ($6000), in fact there was a thread about it a while ago. It's not about the cost, it's the subtleties at this level of performance. The 58 1.4 is not going to turn your photography upside down and unfortunately people are expecting that.

Shot the entire wedding with a 58 and 85, only got the 24 out at the very end. I'll post some individual shots in here, but for those curious https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1367039
