If you want to use the Zeiss 21 f/2.8 ZF, then you might consider the Laowa magic format converter. It is a sort of teleconverter that expands the image circle. It has glass that does a pretty good job from my testing so far. I just re-purchased the ZF 21 f/2.8 to cover a full frame 21mm equivalent (29mm on the GFX) because I like this perspective.
I tried one of those for a couple of days and I didn't find it very useful. The results were worse than just cropping, which IMO was expected. It's basically a tele converter, with its own aberrations and limitations.

I have had good luck with mine. I will post below 2 full size GFX 50s images from my back yard both with the Zeiss Milvus 18 f/2.8 and the Laowa MFC. The first had the top two corners in focus and I will post 100% crops from those corners. The second had both top corners in focus and the lower left corner as well. I will post 100% crops from all three of these in focus corners. I am quite happy with this performance, but will do more testing later. As far as the images themselves, these are nothing special but were also shot in 4 X 5 format and look a lot better cropped to that.
