Even if a new version came out, it would never cost anything close to the original price. What you really want is to have the lens as it is, but you only like to pay 15-20% of it's price I would love that with 25 other lenses also.
No, I understand that he just wants to pay a decent amount for this lens. And not the ridiculous prices that are asked now.

and why precisely could CV not do the lens for 1500 USD?
come on, 3k is ****ing ridiculous. you must take me for some kind of imbecile if you think Im asking them to make the lens for 450USD.
Where I buy lenses it cost 2k. They had 4 of it in a shop, and I made a thread about it here.
If they belived they could make a lot of money making a new lens and sell it for 1500 they would have done it. This is a lens that they would sell very few copies of.

So if you owned the lens. Then you would sell it for half the going rate Because you don't like to get more money with that ridiculous price that people would like to pay you
do you honestly think that the smiley faces hide the fact that youre being both smug AND dense?
it's much more likely that CV doesnt make the 125 because people might buy it over the 100MP. which you either know, or you're really as dense as your posts imply.
the SLII line is a 40mm pancake, a weak/slow but relatively small 20 & 28 and a slightly updated Topcor 58/1.4. that is precisely zero overlap with the current Zeiss line they also make.
and please, it's easy to separate the feelings of wanting to buy a lens for something resembling it's value and that of accepting what the market will take. it goes the other way too, how do you think people felt this summer selling their Zeiss lenses for 2 or 300 less than a year ago?
and congrats on your shop having 4 @ 2k. 1. I dont live in Sweden and dont want to deal with intnerational shipping and 2. if it breaks there aren't new ones to buy to replace it so now Im looking at 3k again. great fucking solution.

Buy the 90. It's a very good lens for a rather low price. Or just do nothing and keep on whining.........
you will note also that 90 is not 125, 3.5 is not 2.5, and close focus is not 1:1 macro. can't you just gtfo when it's obvious that people around here would like to see the 125/2.5 return?

Went to see Tokyo's firework display. All handheld 58/1.4 SL-II
Speaking of rude, this #$@#$ drove his boat right into the middle of a pod of Orcas. It was no surprise they were there as the place was surrounded by whale-watching boats.

They didn't sell tons when it cost half that price
No because Voigtlander only made a few.
Besides that the quality of this lens was hardly known until one or two well know photographers (a.o. Bjørn Rørslett) wrote about it. But then all copies were already sold out and we only had the secondhand market where prices started to increase very fast.
