Went to see Tokyo's firework display. All handheld 58/1.4 SL-II
I also got an el-chapo Chinese make back in Sweden some 3 years ago. It seems to be doing the trick, but I attached it to Kiron and packed it in the box somewhere...can't find it in the box full of Rokkors..

I agree. I compared a 100/2 MP to my 90/3.5 CV and the difference was splitting hairs at 36MP at far distances, though it's nice to be able to shoot at f/2 with little sharpness loss, the 90CV sure does feel light in the bag and on the camera!

not the least of which is doing something about the ~3kUSD pricetag for an F mount version. while I appreciate the hilarious amounts of money some people have made, when this lens came out I didn't even own a camera. and I would like a shot to buy one at SLII prices, not Leica ASPH prices. call me selfish.

Even if a new version came out, it would never cost anything close to the original price. What you really want is to have the lens as it is, but you only like to pay 15-20% of it's price I would love that with 25 other lenses also.
What adapter do you use?
