There are so many amazing photographs and photographers here. I look forward to continuing my learning through this forum in 2013. Only recently got back in to photography -- so only Nov/Dec 2012 captures available. Here's my humble submission:
My favorite wildlife picture of 2012. It was not difficult even to discard the grizzly who charged (just pass) me or the polar bears posing or the .... It was so exciting to see a wolf so close up and great. This could be one of my favorites for life - just me and the wolf pack and my new 600 v2.
A little tight on the composition but I will remember this shot/situation for years.
[He stayed in the open and watched me watching him for long enough that I could recover from having my 600mm on my 7d and being too close. (switched to 5diii/100-400, then 5diii/600, then 5diii/600/wf8 in a period of about 2 minutes)]
A great year.
Merry Christmas

seconds? o.k. I don't post much, since it's my opinion that you can't post without contributing in other threads. But for this I will allow myself an exception.
wow, fantastic shots everyone!
My contribution is from my local lake, and a subject I do not normally shoot ( I usually photograph big raptors), but I like the situation and colors here (and the photo won the best birdphoto here in DK in 2012) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/5255816/1dx-700mm_r%C3%B8dedam_1911.jpg
We were in Zion NP this year when the Fall colors were competing with the incredible rock colors. It was so beautiful it seemed that HDR was the only way for me to do it any justice.
