Great set of pictures posted - I hope mine doesn't disappoint! I took this picture of a baby golden-mantled ground squirrel in Banff on my favourite rockslide north of Lake Louise. I’ve seen heaps of adults but this baby was a first for me. It was about the size of a Least Chipmunk.
Sneaking in here a little late, but I thought this thread was in need of a few more mammals amongst all of you birders! Great shots everyone.
This was taken at Lake Manyara National Park in Kenya, before heading to Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti. A huge bull elephant came charging down the road toward our Land Cruiser and stopped right in front of us for a 10-second stare-down. Our guide gave me a few dirty looks as my shutter was clicking away while he insisted that everyone remain quiet and perfectly still until this old boy carried on.
