For some reason I was pleasantly surprised to see the camera produce an in-camera pano with a raw file. I expected to see this feature restricted to JPEG files. It is not a very interesting shot but it does illustrate what happens with the camera in portrait orientation producing a raw pano file.
To go from one extreme to the other, here is a portrait taken minutes later. I am amazed at the versatility of the RX1.

It's often lost on deaf ears, ebookman, but the versatility is truly phenomenal - all kinds of subject matter, all light levels, great macro, BW, bokeh to f11 deep landscapes, all with casual aplomb. I bought mine for ultra low light work, then found I was doing almost everything else with it! Thanks for these.

It's intriguing, do you really have a raw file? Independently of the settings it's always a jpg in the end for me.

According to the file designation on the Lightroom thumbnail it is a raw file. I am away from my desk for a few days. When I get back I will make sure from the Windows Explorer.

I agree, getting some these effects (watercolor!) in raw mode would be interesting. While it may be impossible for some of the effects, I'd settle for a pano mode raw file, however.

Fantastic colors!

It's possible to convert a raw to jpg and put it back on the card to apply the filter in the camera.

to satisfy my idle curiosity i tried using the rx1 for astro photography (ok, i just set the timer and set the camera in the grass pointed up). looks pretty decent for wide open and iso 6400. little bit of coma and purple fringing, but much better than expected:

Errz, really like those cat photos.
Bob, the first two bridge photos (in post p.82 #19) are beautiful! Well composed and lovely light.
sebboh, great mood in all of your as always.

I know, starting to mention somebody's image means somebody else's image is not mentioned. Don't feel bad please but I have to say I like salvaz' dog and skateboard image, Shuko's unsharpened R samples, ebookman's Friday...island, Helena's plastic wall - and then the other ones as well. And I have mentioned you all earlier...
Here is a casual image, showing my better half in a good mood since she had it all; food, beer and a cigarette. Nothing special - everyone can see this is a vacation snapshot a late evening - but showing one of the reasons I like the RX1 so much: Just shoot away, don't worry, the images all get as good as they can with me behind the camera. This is ISO 12.800 with no noise reduction. I know my old E-M5 couldn't have done this; an equivalent image taken at 17.5/f1.4 and ISO 3200 would have been considerably worse. (Also, I would have missed focus. After a couple of beers I'm not good at that, part of real life.):
