I'm getting my RX1 from Amazon Warehouse Deals tomorrow and can't wait. I was too quick to rush to judgement last time and don't think I fully appreciated and understood how to use it. It was like handing the keys to a Ferrari to someone who just learned to drive. Since then I've been using the NEX-6 and Zeiss 24 and yearn for more. I tried the XE-1 with kit zoom and 35, and while nice, didn't seem like that much of an improvement over the 6. I was expecting something revolutionary in terms of the so-called 'Fuji colors'. And while most seem to appreciate the retro design, I didn't like some things, most of which are just silly. Like when you delete an image, the scrolling of the deletion and the EVF seemed much lagging than the 6, which it is. Also the rear LCD was that much worse than the 6.
I'm going all in on the RX1 this time, ordering more accessories to make this one work for me. I even have 2 sets of grips coming in to evaluate and find the best fit for me, I'm planning an overseas trip in October so hopefully the next 3 months will give me enough time to hone my skills some....Show more →
I hope you find joy. 2nd time is the charm. I'm not sure if this happens with most high end cameras but I am amazed at how many forums I read where someone is buying the RX1 for a 2nd or even 3rd time. For me, it took several months to truly understand its capabilities... and likely a lifetime to master.

yes, they do, rj - that colour integrity paired with ever reliable bokeh, which the EVF renders so well before the shot is taken. Reminds me of the CY 35/1.4 but with much more versatility.
I've long thought that Zeiss tailor lens output to target cameras, as in the ZE range, but for the RX1 they had complete knowledge of the only sensor the lens would *ever be used with*. For long time shooters, imagine designing a lens if it was only ever going to be used withg Velvia 50, you would get a tighter design brief.
And it shows in the harmony of the output. And no one has produced anything like it in the eight months since it was announced.

Jochen, absolutely tremendous light and great detail.
RJ, I really like the sunsets. The lens flare reflecting off the water is very cool.
Not sure if I am the only one, but within the last couple of days when I click the Flickr arrow to generate the BB Code so I can copy and post to this forum, I am now only seeing my original file size as the only option, vs. a drop-down of smaller sizes. I don't think I want to post 6K x 4K pixel images here. Ever since Flickr went to 1TB storage I figured I would upload full size files.

Super busy lately and photos are piling up again, but I wanted to stop by and say hello. Great work in here as always!
-rsolti13, I like almost everything you post. Both subjects, composition and post processing.
-The same can be said about Jochen's street portraits. Beautifully done!
-I also really like Jgreene11's photo of the little boy.
-Bob, beautiful sunset series!
-bpark42 great summer feeling to that one and nice color tones.
Like I said before I became enamored with the Fuji X-E1, but I think that I'm starting to find my way back to RX1 again now. Fortunately I don't have to choose - they should complement each other really well - and I can't wait to go traveling somewhere.
Two shots, but they are so different that I put them in separate posts (and no, I wasn't driving ):
