I've been periodically looking at the image in the forum with interest. Well, I finally took the plunge and landed an RX1 off the B&S board. The images all look good here but would the images out of my camera look as good on my 27" monitor. OMG, YES! Now these are not award winning shots and processed very little but I love the look. The black and whites were achieved with the simple 'V' key in Lightroom. I imagine that NIK Silver Efex will make them even better. I can't wait to really take this camera for spin . . . alas, it's a cold rainy day in Minneapolis.

Helena, thanks so much for your comments. Nice clouds, light and interesting color in the ski bridge image. Like the glistening ice on the road in the 2nd shot.
Bob, I posted quite a few B&W images earlier in the thread using either SEP2 or camera jpeg in b&w mode. RX1 is excellent at B&W and color.

Yup, saw them. But when I saw the shots I took and simply processed them in LR, I was in awe of the what this camera can do! : )

Congrats Bob! I don't want to spoil your fun, but it seems like it has dust on the sensor (see last shot of your first set, top left corner).
I know. I'm going to send it to Sony for removal but I want to play with a bit first. Thanks, thought!

Ok, I'm curious about how quickly Sony will handle this. Can you please keep us updated?
BTW, you can first try what worked for me. My first faulty copy had a decentered lens and also dust on the sensor. One was a similar large one as yours that already showed up at f5.6.
I put a vacuum cleaner at the empty battery compartment (on low power!) and that large spot was gone.

Nice! I'll definitely give that a try before sending it. If I do send, it won't be until mid-month as I am traveling and want the RX1 with me

Hi Jim. There's not doubt in my mind that the RX1 with Zeiss lens is just awesome. IQ is much better than m/4 IMHO but I still like my OMD as a travel cam with assorted lenses. As for comparison with the NEX-7 (at least so far), I really like the RX1. My initial impressions is that this is the closest I have seen to Leica like images SOOC. Mind you, I have only had the camera for 24hrs but I'm blown away by the IQ and 'the look' of these images. Certainly more to come.

I shoot with both the RX1 and OM-D (mostly with the 25/1.4 summilux on it) at the moment. The IQ of the RX1 is SO much better. The OM-D files often feel flat and lifeless in comparison. Luckily that camera has other qualities.
