p.6 #1Sony RX100 Picture Thread

I bought the RX100 mainly to take on serious mountaineering / ski trips where it's critical to have as little extra gear as possible. Thanks to everyone for posting wonderful pictures and convincing me to part with more hard earned cash.

It was worth it though. Here's some samples from an ascent of Mount Fryatt last weekend. Stats include over 30km backpacking and 2000 meters of elevation gain in two very long days (up for over 24 hours on the last day...).

Some from my recent trip to NYC. Shot in raw, converted to tiff using image data converter, and massaged in LR4.

Vern,
Beautiful photographs - every one of them! I own an RX100 camera but I have so much to learn about getting the best out of it. These are inspiring and give me confidence in the RX100 - but also remind me I have a lot to learn to come close to this level of photography!
Thanks for sharing!

Couple more that I converted from RAW via the LR release candidate… This changes how the highlights and shadows can be rendered quite well IMO.

This camera went from exellent to amazing with the RAW files. I'm actually seeing quite a lot more pixel level details on the RAWs.

Nice shots guys.

I love this camera for street shooting. It's so unobtrusive, quiet and fast enough.

Finally, RAW file support from DxO and Lightroom. I used a bit of both on this one, just playing. This Hibiscus popped up one day, and was withered the next in 90+ degree heat. This shot was late in the day, open shade.

Thanks, Rick.
To be fair, that's where I really missed my DSLR and a fast tele, to isolate the bridge from its environment... BTW nice subject
