I'm embarrassed to say that I haven't really used my gear much since switching over to the D800e, but a flash showed up today so I went out to the yard to test it out. This is SOOC, converted from RAW, but no sharpening applied in ACR, nor in CS. No exposure adjustments, no contrast, no clarity, no fill, no nuttin. I'm blown away at the sharpness and resolution from this sensor.
How far away were you for this shot? I'm struggling with the same set up and getting better depth of field. I know at higher magnification DOF is very narrow. I'm probably expecting too much out of the lens. Did you shoot further away and crop the image? The image size looks 1:1

And as far as I can tell, it's spot on without any adjustments. I might buy the dock too update
the lens but I'm not sure since this is my only lens from Sigma. But if they release more lenses
with this image quality, I might pick it up
