how far can the resolution go with 36mps,,

was sailing my RC boat yesterday, taking photos and had the GoPro mounted on the aft area,,

have included three photos: 1.original, 2.cropped for posting and 3.how far can I go and still see detail,,

thanks for looking

lens is my 70-200 VR1 and has been fine tuned to my 800E body,,

Had the wrong lens mounted when I saw this happening.

The D800E has "some" crop capabilities that saved me; almost 100%

Sossusvlei Namibia, this is why it's called a Springbok

About 100% crop

Recently bought a 200mm f/2 VR1, tried to track a moving object for the first time today and I'm very, very impressed by the af speed and tracking capabilities.

The size / weight is surely a big downside, but the resolution and focus speed make lenses like the 70-200 look like plasticky kit lenses
