Yep. Takahashi contracts with Tenba for their refractor cases. That's how I first learned of Tenba tripod cases when I was looking for something to match my scope case.
Oh darn! You don't just have a refactor! you have a Takahashi! I know what those are. - man wish I had one of those to play with. The colors must be amazing! I've always wanted one.

Well, if henryp didn't get it all sorted out for you, we DO have a first rate camera store in Michigan that does match B&H, and since the state's economy sucks, I'm sure they'd appreciate your business...try Norman Camera. I've purchased from them w/o any problems (though you might present a challenge to them...keeping up with all the stuff you order).
(BTW, in the interest of fairness, I have ordered from B&H before without a problem either.)
Norman has been very good. They've gotten me some Nikon stuff that B&H couldn't get, Nikon D3x, 600mm, and my Canon 35mm and 8-15mm plus the Leica DMR/R9 - couldn't find that anywhere else. The sales guy I used to use there left so I'll have to contact them directly. They have a really good alt selection.

Netexpress, I submit that you should just buy B&H, that would be quite the piece of flare to add to your FM profile "for the man who has one of everything"
As for me, the flippant response by Henry is enough to turn me off. I won't be shopping there any more either!
Sounds like the photo gear resale business has made them a bit grouchy. Maybe we should stay clear and look at something a little less stressful!

If I am B&H, I would have "knight" you as a "Gear-Prince", be the one asking you whether you wanted to be the first order of any new item - with min. mark-up - from now on. Lucky that they didn't in condom or birth control pill business, otherwise buyer like you could be branded as a slut or a sex-maniac or something worse...
In fact, B&H should learn from Nordstrom, as my sister-outlaw of mine spend at least $10K/year at Nordstrom, they treated her as a queen whenever she showed up for new clothes line just arrived.

I guess there are a couple of things we can do to avoid this situation:
1. Do not own a webpage. In fact, do not allow anyone to have a webpage with even a similar name to your handle at a forum.
2. Stay away from B&H. If you don't buy from them, they can't cancel your orders.
I will definitely follow #2 from now on, in case my orders 10 years later get cancelled. If we all stay away from B&H, they'd be lucky if they can still be in business in 10 years, so they probably can't cancel any orders.
many of the replies are so entertaining !!!. Please do let us know the outcome of your and others emails to B&H. Just curious, how about the camera store in Palo Alto, Keeble & Shuchat, the employees are "interesting" but they seem to have a lot of gear and it's nearby, I guess. joanlvh
I guess if nothing else this whole thing has at least given us one heck of an entertaining thread to follow! If that was B&H's intent all along, then kudos to them
In other news... hope it all works out in the end (which I am sure it will one way or another, B&H or no B&H). I have to admit it also makes me think twice about doing business with them in the future (which is less about the initial cancellation, and more about the manner in which it seems like it's been handled); but who am I kidding, compared to most other members here what I spend there in a year is less than pocket change, it's pocket lint.
So, what if PetaPixel blogs about this situation? Will the OP get a free 5D3 with his purchase?
I find it ironic that B&H will give a free replacement 5D2 to some idiot who let his camera get hit by an ocean wave, all in the interest of good publicity, but here the OP has done everything to support his case and B&H is stonewalling him. I'm sorry, but that's a load of crap.
Given B&H's history, I'm still hopeful that this might be resolved. It easy to pile on now, but hopefully in the morning with a a clearer head, they'll see they screwed up, and try to make it right.
As huge as $200k in purchases seems to the majority of us, it's not really all that much for the corporate customers who also use B&H. Rental shops, grip houses, and news agencies go through far more than that in eight years, I'd bet. It seems odd for them to jump to this conclusion.

I should let others who have done more business with Keeble & Shuchat comment on them. They are the closest camera store to us.
They did give me a very fair deal on a Hasselbald H1 when they had a Hasselbald and Leaf Aptus day. I swear the Leaf guy and the Hassy guy were casting voodoo on each other that day as I recall That was a long time again though.
Well, I ordered from them recently and the parcel arrived today. They have very fast and efficient service if no humans are involved. But every time I had to correspond or talk on the phone with them, they were invariably rude and condescending. I am not sure where they find their employees but they are certainly the most unpleasant among all the dealers I have bought from in the past.
I live in NYC and so I have only dealt with B&H live. The most efficient store of any kind I've ever been to with this crazy conveyor system that has your items at the cashier before you get there yourself. The sales staff includes working pros who will spend as much time as you like, whether you buy or not. And never had a single problem nor a bleet of a question if I had to return an item; no questions asked. Ever.
For more personal service I've lately frequented Adorama. Same integrity and fair dealing. Smaller venue and always straightforward staff.
