Wow. That's a very long list of gear 0_0
If they don't want your business, just take it else where, they are losing out on someone who wants all the great gear that comes out. Just complain, make sure they hear it and just move on to another company or squeeze some apologetic discounts out of them.

I should let others who have done more business with Keeble & Shuchat comment on them. They are the closest camera store to us.
They did give me a very fair deal on a Hasselbald H1 when they had a Hasselbald and Leaf Aptus day. I swear the Leaf guy and the Hassy guy were casting voodoo on each other that day as I recall That was a long time again though.
I have bought a lot of stuff through Keeble and Shuchat and have never had any problems and their staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. They are a great local store with a large selection of stuff for a local type store. They put me on a early list for the 7D and I got it before a lot of store including B&H or Amazon had it.
I have also bought a lot of stuff through B&H and had no problems. So this is surprising.

Fred you forged this family and I am so grateful to you. It has enriched my humble life. So thank you so much!
I may be kicked out of B&H but I will always be an FM'er.
Come to think of it maybe you are responsible a little bit for my gear acquisition syndrome
FM - the best darned site on the planet for people like us! WoHa!
Roland excellent! Fred Miranda and his site are simply the best...
Regarding BH Photo-
"Mr. Tango (netexpress) has spoken very eloquently, and I wish I could be as forgiving. But I can't, because this whole thing f@cking sucks!" -from Tango & Cash (80's movie)
Just do what I did. I went to other dealers.
B&H screwed me over with my very first order. Yes, they accept returns, but so do other retailers. I lost 1 month of my time dealing with the return and finally getting the item I ordered in the first place. All my subsequent business for camera and lenses went to either local stores and Adorama. Not quite as extensive as Netexpress, but over $25K.
wow, i too have been anxiously waiting for a reply from henry for pages. can't believe this goofiness!
i buy from calumet, they have a pretty good cashback program too through fat wallet. every percent helps... especially if we're talking 1% of 200,000 bucks!
Roland's company has an excellent rep in cyberspace: I have been a customer (and no, it was not resold photographic equipment ). Time for Henry and B&H to become acquainted with the word atonement.
I wouldn't even WANT to buy from such a store anymore after getting such a treatment. Simple as that.
I also got a bad experience with a store where I spent a lot of money over the years and they haven't seen me again ever since. Plenty of respectable stores around.

Precisely why I deal with a local shop for my big pre-order purchases, as I mentioned back on pg. 2 or so. I was trying to remember the name of this place because Lloyd Chambers has mentioned them before, but couldn't quite place it. Glad to see someone else suggested them to you, and that you have dealt with them before...
B&H has not only lost a MASSIVE customer, but I am sure that it has encouraged others to find alternative companies to purchase their gear from. I know it has for me.
Canceling someone's orders with zero proof and not even having the decency to contact the person prior to these allegations... What a bullshit business etiquette.

I've been a B&H customer since the 1980's. I've spent over $200K with them. See my profile. This is gear for my own use. You would think they would appreciate the business. I placed a back order for a Canon 1D X yesterday and they canceled my order without explanation. I contact sales and they say that they can not help me. So I contact customer service and they say they can't help me. I just get the run around. They say I've purchased too much gear so I must be a reseller. I say that's silly I have all my gear listed on my profile here on fredmiranda.com and I offer to PDF all my registered gear from the Canon and Nikon web sites to prove I still own 99% of everything I've ever bought from them. And I've purchased a lot. The only photo gear I've ever sold is when a version II of a lens comes out I've sold the version I. And that is for a handful of items just like everyone here. But they decline. I think that's a hell of a nice way to treat a good customer like myself. ...Show more →
I only read the 1st post so far so I dunno if anyone has made this point yet but:
It's IMPOSSIBLE to be a reseller at B&H's always high prices! Your customers would have to think they were supporting you as a charity! No, I'm serious! B&H always charges top dollar for everything (except maybe something small like a $15 table-pod or a $20 filter). If a person ever wants to know what the top going rates are for any gear just check B&H.
Disclaimer: I don't mean that as a put down! If anything it's a compliment. They're skilled enough salesmen to charge more than everyone else, stay in business all these years, and maintain a loyal clientele. That's something! Still, you couldn't be profitable as a reseller getting stuff from B&H.
Wow. Just wow. I woke up and read this start to finish. I really had to double check that I was awake and not dreaming. I've been hanging around here a long time, and this may be the most shocking and just bizarre thing I've read. It's a real-life Southern Fairy Tale.
(For those not aware, a fairy tale begins "Once upon a time . . . " A Southern fairy tale begins "Y'all ain't gonna believe this shit. . . ")
To be clear, I totally believe NetExpress. I just can't believe this all happened. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.

I have been informed by a little bird that with the help of the photos and FM support that the case is pending review. I will keep you all updated.
Edit and I assume the PDFs with all the serial numbers registered to Nikon and Canon.
All they had to do was ask...
Well, I've now read the entire thread... whew!
Wonderful pics of some awesome gear BTW!!!
I think if it doesn't get resolved maybe we could all ask Fred Miranda here to remove the B&H connections, gear searches and etc. from the FM site.
IMO your word that you weren't a reseller should have been good enough. If you are and say you're not then all (100%) of the liability goes on you and B&H would legally be off the hook for anything. That's the way the law works and that's also the way men show respect to each other - by taking them at their word!
ーーーーーーーーーーーー
This last point is meaningless to this situation but what I don't get is why they're not allowed to sell to someone they suspect might be reselling the equipment. What; we lose our rights as free and sovereign men when we buy something from B&H? Having bought something from someone I become the owner. As the owner I have a right to do with it as I please as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others. That's the basis for the United States. I should be able to sell it, burn it, drag it behind my 4x4, give it away, or anything else I want. The 3 lines that Harry wrote as reasons why they can't are just BS made up "policies" and wouldn't be upheld if challenged in court.

I have to say my experience with B&H is completely opposite of yours.
On several things I've bought from them, they were the lowest. The Canon 70-200 MK II? They were the lowest, beating out Amazon even I believe (and even if Amazon was the same, their crappy packaging definitely meant I was buying from B&H).
They're also great for Sony Alpha mount stuff - They're the only (reputable) company that even had the A77 + 16-50 kit in stock when I ordered (priced same as Amazon and Adorama)...same with the 35 1.8 I just got from them.
While I don't like how the OP's situation is being handled, that doesn't mean I'm all of a sudden going to disparage B&H for some reason - they've been good to me so far, so they'll get my business. I've never had to deal with them on the phone or via email, but I think I've returned two products with nary a problem, all my gear has arrived on time and always shipped very quickly and nicely packaged.
That's why I also don't understand others' non-direct complaints over B&H - why stop business because of one incident, happening to someone you may or may not know? There are two sides to every story, even if B&H perhaps made a mistake, but I believe some of the banter happening would be more efficient if taken to PMs instead of a public "calling out" of sorts on the company.
Just my opinion, feel free to call me a B&H shill or something
Kind of amusing; very surprise Henry didn't fix the issue faster. One comment; it somehow seems wrong to be using a Nikon to take pictures of the Canon
This is so odd; I'm not sure if nexexpress is related to netexpresslabs but when I was buidling systems in the 90s (for personal use) I remember ordering parts from netexpress. They were kind of small but had very good service and a great website (for technical information). I sort of forgot about them in recent years but thanks for whoever dug up that link.

I can't believe that netxp is the only rich guy who buys a lot of camera gear from B&H.
Looks like netexpresslabs sells computer, not camera equipment, I'll bet there are plenty of people using their company to buy personal gear for them, probably something about taxes
